About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated

Spanish Language Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Spanish language instruction to students at a range of proficiency levels while fostering an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Spanish language lessons.

Teach speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills across beginner to advanced levels.

Design and assess coursework, examinations, and other learning activities.

Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.

Support students' academic development through tutorials and office hours.

Integrate innovative teaching methods and educational technologies into the classroom.

Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance activities.

Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and institutional events.

Promote Spanish language and Hispanic cultures through extracurricular activities where appropriate.

Essential Requirements

Master's degree or higher in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, Applied Linguistics, Language Education, or a closely related field.

Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.

Excellent communication skills in English.

Experience teaching Spanish in higher education or an equivalent educational setting.

Strong knowledge of contemporary language teaching methodologies.

Ability to motivate and engage students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.

Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Qualifications

Teaching qualification or certification in language education.

Experience using virtual learning environments and digital teaching tools.

Experience developing curriculum and assessment materials.

Research interests or publications relevant to Spanish language or Hispanic studies.

Experience supervising student projects or dissertations.
