An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated
Lecturer in Construction Management to join a growing and forward-thinking Construction team in Northamptonshire on a 0.5 FTE permanent basis.
This role is ideal for a construction professional who is passionate about sharing their industry expertise and developing the future workforce. Working within a well-established department and supported by exceptional industry-standard facilities, you will help deliver engaging, practical learning experiences that prepare students for successful careers in the construction and built environment sector.
The Role
As a Lecturer in Construction Management, you will bring your real-world knowledge and experience into the classroom, delivering high-quality teaching across Construction and Built Environment programmes.
You will support students in developing the skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours required by today's construction industry, while contributing to the continued development of curriculum provision to meet changing industry needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering Construction and Built Environment programmes to a high standard.
- Creating engaging and industry-focused learning experiences.
- Acting as a course tutor for full-time and part-time student groups.
- Managing course administration, attendance monitoring, and student progress.
- Providing academic guidance and pastoral support to learners.
- Participating in curriculum planning and development to align with industry requirements.
- Contributing to quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
- Supporting students to achieve positive outcomes and progress into employment or further study.
About You
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable professional with significant experience within the construction sector and a passion for education.
Essential Requirements
- Grade C/4 or above in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent).
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in
- Relevant industry experience within the Construction Management or Civil Engineering sector.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to engage, motivate, and inspire learners.
- A commitment to supporting student achievement and success.
Construction Management,
Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Teaching Qualification
- Hold, or be willing to work towards, a
Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Certificate in Education) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Desirable
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
- An appropriate professional qualification within Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or the wider construction sector.
- Previous experience in teaching, training, mentoring, or assessing learners.
