Summary

We are currently recruiting for

Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVA), including a

Specialist BAME IDVA, and

Domestic Abuse Practitioners (DAP) to join a well-established domestic abuse service supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse.

Job Title: Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) / Specialist BAME IDVA / Domestic Abuse Practitioner (DAP)

Location: Staffordshire / Stoke-on-Trent (Hybrid/Home-based may be considered for the right candidate)

Hours: Full-time - Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Contract: Temporary

Pay Rate: Up to

£22 per hour (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of individuals affected by domestic abuse
  • Completing DASH risk assessments, safety planning, and ongoing risk management
  • Providing advocacy and practical support to clients
  • Working closely with safeguarding teams and multi-agency partners, including MARAC
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures
  • Supporting clients to access housing, legal, health, and other support services

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience working within domestic abuse services
  • Experience using the DASH Risk Assessment and safety planning
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and risk management
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs
  • For the Specialist BAME IDVA role, experience supporting Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, including clients with English as a second language and those with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF), is highly desirable
  • Enhanced DBS (Child & Adult) and Right to Work in the UK
