Summary

We are looking for passionate Registered Nurses to support our Birmingham-based service user. Candidates must be based outside of the Midlands; however, please note that each shift includes 2 hours of paid travel time.

Our service user has a spinal cord injury and lives with her friend in a ground-floor flat. She is fiercely independent despite being tetraplegic and, as a nurse within her package of care, you will play a vital role in promoting and advocating for her independence, which is central to her wellbeing and quality of life.

She has a fantastic sense of humour, is quick-witted, and enjoys engaging conversations, so there is rarely a dull moment on shift. She also has a keen interest in genealogy and enjoys exploring family history and tracing family lineages.

Our service user lives with Complex PTSD, and nurses supporting her should be able to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care. As with many people living with PTSD, there may be times when her mood, communication style, or emotional presentation varies depending on how she is feeling.

Successful candidates will be patient, adaptable, and able to respond calmly and professionally, recognising when reassurance, space, active listening, or a change in approach may be needed. Building trust, maintaining consistency, and supporting her emotional wellbeing are just as important as meeting her physical care needs.
