Summary

A Vacancy at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

The Salford Adult Social Care (ASC) Therapy Team supports people across Salford—including children—to live as independently and safely as possible in their own homes. We provide person-centred assessments and interventions, enabling individuals to maintain independence and reduce risks within their home environment.

We are a forward-thinking and innovative service with a strong reputation for high-quality practice, particularly in moving and handling, specialist equipment, and complex housing adaptations. Many of our recommendations are funded through Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG), and our therapists have access to a wide range of equipment to support outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to develop specialist community skills within a supportive and experienced team.

Potential TUPE Transfer

Adult Social Care services in Salford are currently delivered by the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust and are expected to transfer to Salford City Council during 2026.

As this role forms part of those services, the successful candidate is likely to transfer to Salford City Council under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE), subject to the transfer proceeding as planned. Any transfer would be managed through the appropriate formal process, including consultation and support for affected employees.

• Screen and prioritise new referrals into the service

• Carry out functional and holistic assessments within service users’ homes and, where required, in hospital settings to support safe discharge

• Identify risks and provide practical, person-centred solutions to promote independence

• Recommend and implement specialist equipment, moving and handling solutions, and complex housing adaptations

• Complete DFG-related assessments and recommendations

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, families, and carers
