Summary

DWP Security officer

Location: Coventry Cofa Court

At Mitie, we are seeking experienced security professionals to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for our new contract with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional and dedicated team that serves communities across the United Kingdom.

Job Overview

-Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.

-Patrol the premises regularly to identify potential security threats.

-Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.

-Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.

-Deliver a high standard of customer service and assist staff and visitors with any security-related matters.

-Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.

-Comply with Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations, and Security and Health & Safety

-Identify and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.

-Remain vigilant to any threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to prevent escalation.

-Maintain professional conduct when managing difficult situations and challenging customers.

-Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries as soon as possible following any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.

-Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.

-Contact emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Requirements

-Previous Security Experience

-Valid SIA DS Licence

-Ability to take appropriate action to minimise disruption, loss, or damage.

-Exercise sound judgement and initiative by immediately escalating matters when a situation requires additional support.

-Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
