Summary
Hrstring is seeking a reliable and dedicated Domestic Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment across our client sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out cleaning and housekeeping duties to the highest standards, ensuring all areas are hygienic, well-presented, and compliant with health, safety, and infection prevention policies.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and sanitise bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, communal areas, offices, and other designated areas.
Carry out routine housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing, and emptying bins.
Ensure cleaning schedules are completed accurately and on time.
Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely in accordance with COSHH guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
Replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other consumables as required.
Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damaged equipment promptly.
Handle laundry duties where required, including washing, drying, ironing, and distributing linen and clothing.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness while respecting clients' privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for clients and visitors.
Requirements
Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of infection prevention, health and safety, and COSHH regulations is advantageous.
Right to work in the UK.
Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Previous experience as a Domestic Assistant, Housekeeper, Cleaner, or in a similar role is preferred.
Experience working within care homes, hospitals, supported living services, hotels, or commercial environments is an advantage.
Good understanding of cleaning methods, hygiene standards, and safe use of cleaning products.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality.
Flexible to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays where required.
