Summary
Teaching Assistant – Primary School
This is a friendly primary school for pupils aged 2–11, located in Leigh-on-Mendip and part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership. The school benefits from a strong community ethos, supportive leadership, and a commitment to helping every child achieve their full potential.

Duties as a Teaching Assistant:
- Supporting pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
- Supporting children with a range of learning needs and abilities
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Assisting with classroom preparation and organisation
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Ideal Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working with children is desirable
- Experience within a school or educational setting is advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
