Russell Group Graduate Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated team from September 2026. The Role

As a Russell Group Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers to provide high-quality academic support both inside and outside the classroom. You will play a vital role in helping students achieve excellent outcomes while developing your own classroom practice through ongoing coaching and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across your specialist subject area and the wider curriculum.

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to raise student attainment.

• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom activities and resource development.

• Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

• Encourage confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning.

• Support students with varying learning needs, including those requiring additional academic support.

• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and school leaders.

Candidate Requirements

• A

minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree from a Russell Group university.

• Strong academic background.

• A genuine ambition to pursue a career in teaching or education.

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

• A proactive, resilient and professional approach.

• Previous experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
