We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the team at Stannard School in Dunstable. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and nurturing school community that is committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for pupils with additional needs.

Located in Dunstable, just two miles from the M1, Stannard School provides a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for pupils aged 7 to 18.

As a newly developed school with significant investment in facilities and resources, you'll have the opportunity to help shape a positive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

Stannard School is part of an organisation that has been transforming the lives of children and young people for over 30 years. With more than 15 specialist SEN schools across the UK, we are proud that all inspected education services are rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and the wider school team to provide tailored support that enables pupils to thrive both academically and personally.

- Providing one-to-one support or working with small groups of up to six pupils

- Supporting teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons

- Helping to prepare classrooms and learning resources

- Monitoring pupil progress and sharing observations with teaching staff

- Supervising pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and extracurricular activities

- Supporting learning through targeted interventions and, where appropriate, assisting with marking

- Building positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, engagement, and successful learning outcomes

- Has a strong standard of education, ideally educated to A-Level, with GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics

- Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar education support role

- Has experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within an educational setting

- Is confident managing behaviour positively and supporting pupils with additional needs

- Is willing to take on additional responsibilities, such as supporting Forest School activities, lunchtime provision, wellbeing initiatives, or other areas of school life

- Has good IT skills and a proactive, flexible approach

- Is committed to ongoing professional development and continuous learning

An Enhanced DBS check will be required before employment commences.

We believe that supporting our staff is just as important as supporting our pupils.

- A welcoming and inclusive workplace that prioritises the wellbeing of staff and pupils

- Excellent professional development and career progression opportunities

- Access to high-quality training to help you build new skills and confidence

- The opportunity to make a meaningful, lasting difference to the lives of children and young people

- A collaborative and passionate team dedicated to achieving the very best outcomes for every pupil

- Life Assurance

- Employee Discount Scheme

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS disclosure.

We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds.
