Summary

Lead the strategic and operational delivery of smoking cessation initiatives within HHFT cancer services and related services to ensure effective referral pathways, integrated electronic clinical systems, and accurate patient record management. Drive programme delivery for tobacco control in partnership with HCC Public Health, Wessex Cancer Alliance, smokefree HHFT sites work, Smokefree Hampshire, and community stakeholders. Embed smoking cessation conversations into cancer pathways, train staff on the impact of smoking on the risk of cancer and the outcomes of treatment. Build staff and patient awareness of the local stop smoking service offer (Smokefree Hampshire) and motivate patients to make a quit attempt and through improving referral pathways. Develop strong links with the HCC PH team and HIOW ICB on cohesive messaging around the HIOW and Smokefree 2030 generation plans. Develop strong links with other local providers (eg: Primary Care Network) to share knowledge, resources and best practice to ensure consistent messaging across HIOW particularly those applicable to cancer pathways. Follow and retain expert knowledge on smokefree policies, smoking cessation best practice and guidance (NICE, NCSCT), and attend any related county-wide tobacco control meetings, briefings, and events (where applicable).
