South Staffordshire Water operates across two regions as Cambridge Water and South Staffs Water, and is a privately-owned

South Staffs Water supplies a population of nearly 1.3 million. The area of supply stretches from the edge of Ashbourne in the

North, to Halesowen in the South, and from Burton-on-Trent in the East, to Kinver in the West.

The Role:

As a Leakage Technician, you'll play a vital role in helping to reduce water loss across the network by identifying, locating and

supporting the repair of leaks. Working across a designated area, you'll use specialist detection equipment and network data to

investigate leakage issues, support DMA performance, and contribute to the efficient operation of the water distribution system.

This is a hands-on, field-based role that combines technical problem-solving, network investigation and operational support.

You'll work independently and alongside colleagues to ensure accurate leak identification, maintain network integrity, and help

deliver a reliable service to customers. The role includes a mixture of day and night working to support operational requirements.

Please note that this is a field based role.

Key Responsibilities:

* Detect and accurately locate leaks using a range of acoustic detection techniques, correlators, loggers and associated

equipment.

* Investigate points of interest identified through acoustic logger surveys, satellite surveys and other leakage monitoring

methods.

* Carry out leakage investigations within District Metered Areas (DMAs), including step testing, basic valve operations and

network analysis activities.

* Undertake flow and pressure logging activities, including equipment installation, retrieval and data analysis.

* Perform pipe tracing and site investigations to identify underground assets and support leakage resolution.

* Conduct DMA boundary valve integrity checks and Pressure Zero Test activities to assess network performance.

* Support repair teams through accurate leak mark-outs and dry excavation activities where required.

* Complete customer and company work requests, maintaining accurate records of investigations and findings.

* Identify and report network anomalies, GIS updates and previously unidentified customer usage.

* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures, health and safety requirements, and relevant

legislation.

What You’ll Need:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).

* Leakage detection experience (Desirable).

* NRSWA Signing, Lighting & Guarding qualification.

* National Water Hygiene Card.

* Experience of network valve operations and water distribution systems.

* Competent in the use of leakage detection equipment and associated technology.

* Strong communication, reporting and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.

* Commitment to safety, customer service and delivering high-quality results.

What You'll Get:

* Family-Friendly Leave: Enhanced Maternity, Adoption, Paternity & Shared Parental Leave, Fertility Support, and up to 5 paid

Carer’s Days

* Financial & Life Assurance: Company Pension Scheme with salary sacrifice options

* Health & Wellbeing: Employee Assistance Programme and 24/7 Virtual GP access for you and your dependents
