Band 2 - Salary Range £26,696 - £28,988 per annum (pro rata)
Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum (pro rata)
We are looking to recruit a Laundry Assistant to join the Hotel Services Department at NHS Shetland, based within the Gilbert Bain Hospital Laundry
.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a practical and rewarding role. Laundry Assistants play a vital part in supporting patient care by ensuring a continuous supply of clean linen and uniforms across NHS Shetland services.
As part of a dedicated team, you will be involved in all aspects of the laundry process, including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, finishing and distributing linen. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow procedures and instructions, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.
We are looking for candidates with good communication skills who are reliable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a busy team. Applicants should have a good level of basic education and be able to undertake the physical aspects of the role. A full UK driving licence is desirable.
Full training and induction will be provided, followed by ongoing support from experienced colleagues until you are fully competent in all aspects of the role, including relevant procedures, equipment and documentation.
The work you do within the Laundry Service is essential to the safe and effective running of healthcare services across Shetland. As a valued member of the Hotel Services team, you may also have opportunities to develop your skills and gain experience in other areas of the department.
