Summary

Deputy Care Manager

Location: Edinburgh

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Employment type: Full-time

Clementia Care is looking for a motivated and organised Deputy Care Manager to support the Manager with the day-to-day coordination of carers, clients and care services.

This role may suit someone with experience in a care home, home-care service, healthcare agency, front-of-house management, customer service, recruitment or general operations who is ready to progress into care management.

Main responsibilities

Support the Manager with the daily running of the service.

Prepare carers’ rotas and help arrange shift cover.

Communicate with carers, clients, families and care providers.

Support recruitment, interviews, onboarding and staff induction.

Assist with new client enquiries and ongoing client relationships.

Maintain staff and client records.

Help resolve staffing, service and communication issues.

Support staff training, supervision and performance monitoring.

Assist with quality checks, complaints and incident follow-up.

Help ensure that the service follows safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and regulatory requirements.

Deputise for the Manager when required.

Participate in the on-call rota where necessary.

What we are looking for

Experience in care, healthcare, customer service, administration, recruitment, coordination or management.

Good communication and organisational skills.

Confidence dealing with staff, clients and families.

Ability to manage several priorities and respond to urgent situations.

Basic understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and health and safety.

Willingness to learn and develop within the care sector.

Good computer and record-keeping skills.

Previous experience as a Care Manager or Deputy Care Manager is desirable but not essential. Training and support will be provided to the right candidate.

A Health and Social Care qualification, UK driving licence and knowledge of Care Inspectorate requirements would be an advantage.
