Summary

The Agile Research Delivery Team Manager leads a multi-professional team to deliver National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research Delivery Network (RDN) Portfolio studies across various health and care settings. This role involves managing regionally based, flexible, multidisciplinary staff to support the delivery of NIHR RDN portfolio studies in diverse specialties and settings. The manager is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the NIHR RDN portfolio, focusing on the health and social care issues of the regional population. The post has a dual function, managing and leading either research delivery and/or research support for wider care settings, dependent on regional need, including delegation, supervision, education, support, and appraisals. This role also involves working closely with different professions from multiple organisations involved in health and care research and is integral to the Agile Research Delivery Team. The Team Manager is responsible for providing enhanced study support for social and wider care settings, working closely with other Agile Research Delivery Team Managers and reporting to the Agile Research Delivery Team Senior Manager

The post holder will be based at Paget House, Leicestershire, and will be responsible for supporting the southern area of the East Midlands, including Northamptonshire.

The Agile Research Delivery Team Manager provides strategic leadership, operational management, and financial oversight for a multi-professional team delivering NIHR RDN Portfolio studies. Key responsibilities include managing staff deployment and performance, overseeing project planning and delivery, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering continuous improvement in research delivery. The role requires strong communication, stakeholder management, and a focus on patient and public involvement in research.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:

• high-quality care for all,

• being a great place to work,

• partnerships for impact, and

• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:

• we are compassionate,

• we are proud,

• we are inclusive, and

• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
