Summary

South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking an exceptional Quality & Safety Improvement Lead to provide strategic leadership for quality, patient safety, clinical governance and continuous improvement across our Community Mental Health Services. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of care, lead transformational programmes and influence quality improvement at Trust and system level.

Working as a senior member of the Community Leadership Team, you will lead the development and delivery of our Community Quality and Safety Strategy, ensuring robust governance, assurance and improvement systems are embedded across services. You will champion a culture of learning, innovation and continuous improvement that improves patient outcomes, experience and safety.

In this highly visible leadership position, you will:

• Lead strategic quality improvement and patient safety programmes across Community Services.

• Oversee clinical governance, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

• Drive learning from incidents, complaints, patient feedback and performance data to deliver meaningful improvements.

• Provide expert advice and assurance to senior leaders, Executive Teams and Trust committees.

• Champion co-production, anti-racist practice and action to reduce health inequalities.

• Work collaboratively with Integrated Care System partners, local authorities and external stakeholders to improve quality and outcomes across the wider health and care system.

We are looking for an inspirational and credible senior leader who can influence at executive level and thrive in complex environments.

You will bring:

• Professional registration as a Mental Health Nurse or other relevant clinical profession.

• Master's level qualification or equivalent senior leadership experience.

• Significant experience leading quality, governance, patient safety and improvement programmes within the NHS.

• A successful track record of delivering large-scale transformation and service improvement.

• Expert knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety and regulatory frameworks.

• Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and system partnership skills.

• A strong commitment to equality, inclusion, co-production and reducing health inequalities.

The Quality & Safety Improvement Lead will provide strategic leadership for quality improvement, patient safety, clinical effectiveness and governance across Adult Community Mental Health Services.

The post holder will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the Community Quality and Safety Improvement Programme, ensuring services continuously improve patient outcomes, experience and safety.

Working as a senior member of the Community Leadership Team, the post holder will drive service-wide quality improvement initiatives, oversee governance and assurance systems and ensure learning from incidents, complaints, audits and service-user feedback results in measurable and sustainable change.

The role will work closely with clinical, operational and professional leaders to embed a culture of continuous improvement, co-production, innovation and organisational learning across all community services.

The post holder will ensure that reducing health inequalities, promoting anti-racist practice and improving equitable outcomes are central to all quality and safety programmes.
