This well-established specialist school supports pupils aged 2 to 19 with a range of complex learning needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, speech and language needs, and associated medical needs.

Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver engaging, personalised learning that supports pupils' academic, social, and emotional development while working closely with a highly skilled team of teaching assistants, therapists, and specialist professionals.

Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

- Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs

- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals to provide holistic support

- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes confidence, independence, and wellbeing

- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on pupil progress

- Contribute to the wider life of the school through staff meetings, professional development, and curriculum planning

You

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

- Experience teaching pupils with SEND or within a specialist education setting (desirable)

- Strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, differentiated lessons

- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills

- A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting pupils with additional needs

- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

- The right to work in the UK
