Summary

Here at Sheffield Hallam University we are looking to appoint an Academic Tutor in Aerospace Engineering to help inspire the next generation of engineers tackling the challenges of air, space and sustainable transportation.

The successful candidate will have a broad background in aerospace engineering, with the ability to support students in applying engineering principles, design, analysis and systems thinking to real-world challenges. Experience gained through academic study, industrial practice or other professional activity, and applicable across aerospace, automotive or railway engineering, would be welcomed.

Working within the Future Transportation Subject Area, you will contribute to a professional-from-day-one, project-based curriculum through a range of teaching, learning and assessment activities, while supporting module development and curriculum enhancement. The role will primarily support Aerospace Engineering, while also contributing across Automotive Engineering and Railway Engineering in line with teaching and curriculum needs

Should you be enrolled into TPS, each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/57th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 29% of your salary). For a salary of £35,000, for example, the University would pay just over £10,000 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £614 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
