Summary

We have an opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join Landau. As a Senior Support Worker, you will provide high quality, person centred support to adults with learning disabilities in centre and within the community, promoting independence, wellbeing, and inclusion.

The Senior Support Worker leads and supports staff in delivering meaningful activities, safeguarding individuals, and ensuring care plans are followed effectively. The role contributes to a safe, empowering environment where individuals can develop skills, build confidence, and engage fully in daily opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day support for individuals with learning disabilities in line with care and support plans

• Work with the Coordinator to identify support needs and tailor activities to enable learner success

• Support safe participation in centre-based and community activities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 support to build confidence, independence, and skills

• Identify barriers to learning and implement strategies to overcome them

• Promote positive behaviour management in line with policies and procedures

• Maintain accurate records, including daily notes, incident reports, and support plans

• Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality, and organisational policies at all times

• Act as key worker for designated learners, monitoring progress, attendance, and wellbeing

• Report any safeguarding, health, or wellbeing concerns promptly

• Liaise with learners, families, and external stakeholders, keeping the Coordinator informed

• Act as senior point of contact on shift, providing guidance and supervision to staff

• Mentor and coach Support Workers, modelling best practice and professionalism

• Support rota planning and activity scheduling to ensure effective service delivery

• Assist with induction and training of new staff

• Attend occasional events outside normal hours to support learner recognition and service promotion

• Provide flexible support across the organisation as required
