Summary

Desian Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming single-form entry primary school in Winsford to recruit a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting in September.

This highly inclusive mainstream school is seeking a compassionate and reliable individual to provide dedicated support to a pupil in Reception with a diagnosis of Autism (ASC) and Selective Mutism. This long-term opportunity will run for the full academic year, giving you the chance to build a trusting relationship with the pupil and become an integral part of their educational journey.

As the pupil's key adult throughout the school day, you'll play a vital role in helping them feel safe, confident and included. From welcoming them at the school gate each morning to celebrating their progress with their family at the end of the day, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference to a child's life.

You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative school where inclusion is at the heart of everything they do, working alongside experienced teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to provide the very best outcomes for every child.

Your role will include:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.

• Using Makaton, PECS and other visual communication strategies to encourage engagement and communication.

• Delivering positive behaviour support through sensory activities, positive reinforcement, Now & Next boards and movement breaks.

• Supporting the pupil during classroom activities, playtimes and lunchtime.

• Helping the pupil develop confidence, independence and positive relationships with their peers.

• Building strong relationships with parents and carers, providing daily feedback and celebrating progress.

• Working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to monitor progress and adapt support where required.

Why join this school?

• Join a friendly and welcoming single-form entry school where every child is known and valued.

• Work within an experienced and supportive team committed to inclusive education.

• Make a lasting impact by supporting one child throughout an important stage of their development.

• Gain valuable experience working alongside experienced SEN professionals.

• Enjoy the security of a full academic year's placement with the potential for future opportunities.

What you'll receive:

• Competitive rates of pay.

• Dedicated support from an experienced Desian Education consultant.

• Long-term, full-time placement.

• Company pension scheme.

• Full holiday entitlement.

• Free CPD and training opportunities.

• Refer a Friend bonus scheme.

• Access to a wide range of exclusive education vacancies.

If you're looking for a rewarding role where your patience, encouragement and support can have a life-changing impact on a child's future, we'd love to hear from you.
