Summary
What you will do
Hot Rolled Products Port Talbot is the UK’s leading supplier of Hot rolled coil, with up to 83,000 Tonnes of slab a week, processed to various thickness and grades for hundreds of different customers all over the world. Steel slab is reduced to coil and either sent direct to customers or for downstream processing through a highly complex and high speed rolling mill.
You will be working within the Hot Rolled Products area, providing a complete range of Engineering activities to optimise production in the Mill.
As part of the team, you become a key member of Tata Steel, operating as the first point of contact to ensure the continued output of the Hot Mill.
The suitable candidate will:
Have a good understanding of electrical control systems, drives and motors and be able to quickly diagnose and rectify faults.
Carry out electrical installations.
Be authorised to issue permits (when competent) on electrical systems.
Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety requirements and to implement the company Health and Safety Policy and relevant statutory duties.
Utilise their skills to the maximum effect in support of team activities.
React to engineering, quality and safety issues as they arise in a timely and effective manner.
Actively contribute to all activities aimed at improving plant performance.
Motivated and able to work both alone and as part of a team.
