Based in the Bexley Wing, this busy service supports up to 100 patients each day, helping people manage a wide range of treatment-related side effects during their cancer journey. As a clinical support worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, overseeing clinics, providing clinical support and working closely with registered nurses to care for patients who may be acutely unwell. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist oncology setting while making a real difference to patients and their families. What you will bring to the role We are seeking a caring, motivated and organised clinical support worker who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care within a busy oncology outpatient setting. Key aspects of the role include: Providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing radiotherapy treatment. Working closely with registered nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to support patient assessment and care. Monitoring patients, undertaking clinical observations and escalating concerns promptly when a patient's condition changes. Building effective relationships with patients, families and carers, providing reassurance and support during their treatment journey. Supporting the smooth running of busy review clinics and helping to coordinate patient flow. Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality is always upheld. Using excellent communication skills to support patients with a wide range of physical, emotional and communication needs. Organising and prioritising workload effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Contributing to a safe, clean and high-quality care environment. Supporting and leading fellow clinical support workers on a shift-by-shift basis while contributing to a positive team culture.
