The Opportunity
An established commercial vehicle operator is looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic to join its busy workshop in Coalville.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a professional and well-equipped team, working on a varied fleet of tractor units, rigid vehicles and trailers. The Role
As an HGV Technician, your responsibilities will include:
·Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on tractor units, rigid vehicles and trailers.
·Preparing vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections.
·Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
·Repairing and replacing components including:
oBraking systems
oSuspension
oSteering
oAxles
oTransmission components
·Completing repair documentation accurately using digital workshop systems.
·Carrying out vehicle modifications and component installations where required.
·Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and Health & Safety procedures.
·Working as part of a proactive workshop team to minimise vehicle downtime.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
·Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
·Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy goods vehicles.
·Good diagnostic and fault-finding abilities across mechanical and electrical systems.
·The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
·A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
·Good organisational and time management skills.
Desirable
·Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
·Experience preparing vehicles for MOT.
·Knowledge of diagnostic equipment and workshop software.
