Summary

Job title: CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator

Location: Wakefield 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm

Friday: 8:00am – 3:15pm

 

Salary: £18.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience)

 

Overview 

Our client are seeking an experienced CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator to set up, programme and operate HAAS machining centres to manufacture high-quality precision components to specified tolerances. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of interesting and challenging projects within a modern manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, programme and operate HAAS 3-axis vertical machining centres (VF2 to VF9).

• Manufacture precision component parts in accordance with engineering drawings and specified tolerances.

• Carry out in-process inspection using appropriate measuring equipment.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

• Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and workmanship.

• Keep the work area clean, organised and safe.

• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

• Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required to support the production team.

 

Qualifications

• City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (desirable).

• Skills & Experience

• Proven experience setting, programming and operating HAAS CNC milling machines.

• Programming experience is highly advantageous.

• Ability to use a range of precision inspection and measuring equipment.

• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.

• Ability to consistently produce components to tight tolerances.

• Good awareness of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge and experience of 4th and 5th axis machining would be advantageous.
