Claims Handler

Location: Birmingham

Basic Salary: Up to £34,000

Hours: 40 Hours Monday to Friday

Our client is seeking a professional and experienced

Claims Handler / Motor Claims Advisor / Insurance Claims Handler / Accident Repair Claims Handler / Claims Coordinator to join their busy Accident Repair Centre. You'll be responsible for managing motor claims from first notification through to completion, liaising with insurers, customers, engineers, and internal departments to ensure a seamless repair journey and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities of a Claims Handler / Motor Claims Advisor / Insurance Claims Handler / Accident Repair Claims Handler / Claims Coordinator:

• Manage motor insurance claims from first notification through to settlement and vehicle repair completion

• Liaise with insurance companies, engineers, third-party providers, and customers throughout the claims process

• Accurately update claim records and maintain detailed case notes on internal systems

• Obtain and review estimates, repair authorisations, and supporting documentation

• Ensure claims are processed in line with insurer SLAs and company procedures

• Keep customers informed with regular progress updates, providing excellent customer service at all times

• Resolve customer queries and handle any issues promptly and professionally

• Work closely with estimators, workshop teams, and parts departments to minimise repair delays

• Monitor outstanding claims and proactively chase approvals, payments, and documentation

• Ensure compliance with FCA guidelines, insurer requirements, and company policies

Essential Skills and Qualifications for a Claims Handler / Motor Claims Advisor / Insurance Claims Handler / Accident Repair Claims Handler / Claims Coordinator:

• Previous experience as a Claims Handler / Motor Claims Advisor / Insurance Claims Handler / Accident Repair Claims Handler / Claims Coordinator

• Experience within the motor insurance, accident repair, or automotive industry

• Strong knowledge of the vehicle repair and insurance claims process

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously

• Confident using computer systems and claims management software

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
