Summary

Location: Needham Fabrications LTD, Unit 5, Lion Barn Industrial Estate, Needham Market, Suffolk, IP6 8NZ

Pay: £12.71 per hour (or above, depending on age and experience)

We're looking for an enthusiastic Engineering Operative Apprentice to join our skilled fabrication and welding team. This is an exciting opportunity to earn a wage while gaining a nationally recognised Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship, developing practical skills that will set you up for a long-term career in engineering.

You'll work alongside experienced fabricators and welders who will teach you everything from reading engineering drawings to assembling and welding metal components safely and accurately.

No two days are the same, and every project is an opportunity to learn something new.

What You'll Be Learning

As part of your apprenticeship, you'll gradually develop the skills to:

Read engineering drawings and understand how products are manufactured.

Measure, mark out, cut and shape metal materials.

Use a variety of engineering hand tools and power tools safely.

Learn welding and fabrication techniques from experienced engineers.

Assemble fabricated components to a high standard.

Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet customer requirements.

Work safely and follow engineering health and safety procedures.

Keep your work area clean, organised and professional.

Work as part of a friendly engineering team to complete customer projects.

Throughout your apprenticeship you'll receive full training, both in the workplace and with your training provider.

What We're Looking For

You don't need previous engineering experience. We're looking for someone with the right attitude who is keen to learn.

You'll ideally be:

Curious about how things are made.

Practical and enjoy hands-on work.

Reliable and willing to learn from experienced engineers.

A good team player with a positive attitude.

Happy following instructions and working safely.

Someone who takes pride in doing a job well.
