Summary

1. To perform a broad range of x-ray examinations on patients commensurate with a high level of radiographic skill. 2. To undertake the autonomous evaluation of plain film images for diagnostic suitability. 3. Ensure a high standard of patient care, both clinical and pastoralcommensurate with good practice, ensuring all aspects of the service aredelivered within the departments defined quality standards. 4. To maintain and promote a high quality patient focussed service. 5. To review images and ensure that supplementary imaging procedures/views are considered prior to the patient departure from the department. 6. To participate in the departments 24 hour, 7 day a week shift system which will include weekend, Bank Holiday and night shifts. 7. Comply with the Ionising Radiation Regulation 2017, (IRR 17) and theIonising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017, (IRMER 2017)ensuring radiation doses are kept as low as reasonable achievable in line with Diagnostic Reference Levels (DRL). 8. Ensure general cleanliness and tidiness of all clinical areas including cleaning and disposal of clinical and hazardous waste. 9. Awareness of Health and Safety precautions in respect of staff, patients and visitors. 10. To participate in the Quality Assurance Programme and take part indepartmental audit.
