Summary

Leadership of the team. Co-ordination and flow of the Paediatric Emergency Department, SDEC pathways and management of Paediatric standbys in Resus. Minor injuries - Wound Care, Dressings, Suturing, Plastering etc. Knowledge and experience of each speciality - Resusitation/Paediatric Intensive Care, Medical, Surgical, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Minor Injury and Illness, Major Trauma, ENT, Max Fax, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities. Advanced Paediatric Life Support. Major Incident and Decontamination. Managing Patient Flow. Streaming of patients to the most appropriate pathway eg. COAU/ELCAS . Escalation. Supporting Junior Staff. Supporting the Nurse in Charge. Staff Training. Appraisals. Audits.
