A Potato & Onion Grading Operative is responsible for sorting, grading, and preparing potatoes and onions to meet quality standards and customer specifications. The role involves inspecting produce, removing damaged or defective items, and ensuring products are packed and handled safely and efficiently.
**Key Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Grade and sort potatoes and onions according to size, quality, and customer specifications.
* Remove damaged, diseased, or defective produce from the grading line.
* Operate grading, conveying, and packing equipment safely and efficiently.
* Pack and label produce in accordance with company and customer requirements.
* Carry out routine quality checks to maintain product standards.
* Keep the grading and packing area clean, tidy, and hygienic.
* Follow all health and safety, food safety, and hygiene procedures.
* Report equipment faults, product quality issues, or safety concerns to supervisors.
* Assist with general warehouse or production duties as required.
