Summary

To assist in rationalisation and standardisation of the stock range. To ensure all orders placed are received and are as ordered. To pick and pack items of stock held in stores as required. Check for back orders recording and monitoring their arrival so that if necessary alternatives can be obtained and customers can be informed of any possible disruption to supplies. Provide a quality service by determining the correct stock levels to ensure optimum operational performance and ensure a continuous stock service. Operate the materials management system using automatic data capture and on line communication. To review with ward managers and departmental heads stock levels as required. When appropriate using the Requirement Review Report amending the system and producing bar codes as necessary. Respond to any queries and enquiries in a timely and courteous manner. To assist where required in the planning and implementation of changes in delivery patterns as affected by Bank Holidays. To assist in the monitoring of the delivery record of NHS Logistics so that any shortfall in the 98% availability is known. Order and unpack stock and non-stock items in accordance with the departmental procedures. Deliver goods and stock when required complying with health and safety at work regulations. (To include wearing/using PPE). Have a flexible attitude to working hours to meet the needs of the customer. Provide accurate and timely reports from the NHS Supply Chain system to assist in effective decision-making.
