The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for flexible and reliable individuals to work as facilities technicians at Seacroft Hospital & Chapel Allerton Hospital. You’ll play a vital part in helping to keep our patients, visitors, and staff safe, by ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, ensure our patients are well-fed by providing meal services and you’ll work closely with all teams on site by supporting the delivery of excellent patient care. We currently have permanent vacancies, to work on Wards & department areas or as a porter. Post one: M-F 0730-1400 (30 hours) domestic - Seacroft Post two: M-F 1500-1900 (20 hours) domestic - Seacroft Post three: M-F 1530-2130 (30 hours) domestic - Seacroft Post four: M-F 1230-1900 (30 hours) domestic - Seacroft Post five: rolling shift pattern shift pattern (37.5hrs) porter – Chapel Allerton Post six: M-F 1445 – 1930 (23.75hrs) domestic – Chapel Allerton Successful applicants will be invited to an interview assessment centre held on Friday 14th August 2026. The assessment centre will consist of an interview with set questions for the candidates around activities such as cleaning, ward food service, task prioritisation, infection prevention. Details of which may be taken from the attached job description. There will also be a short interactive test where the candidate is asked to take part in a mock patient interaction relating to something likely to be within the role expectation such as asking for directions, or having to complete the meal food order A full enhanced DBS check will be required for all roles Why you should join our Team You’ll play a vital part in helping your local community by helping to keep our patients, visitors, and staff safe, by ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, ensure our patients are well-fed by providing meal services and you’ll work closely with all teams on site by supporting the delivery of excellent patient care The roles will provide cleaning duties (dusting, mopping, cleaning toilets, sinks, patient beds etc) within either wards, departments or public areas, dependant on which role the successful candidates are appointed into. Within ward areas the role is also required to complete full catering services to Patients (after training has been given). - Ensuring the environment is cleaned to the highest standards. - Catering duties involve a caring, Patient centred approach to meal & beverage services. - There will be an expectation to complete ad-hoc duties when required. Portering role will provide site support in moving stock, stores and equipment as well as patients. Post, medical gas & linen delivery. Waste handling and removal. What you will bring to the role Qualifications To have basic literacy & numeracy - GCSE or equivalent in maths / English To have Food Safety level 1, Cleaning / Housekeeping NVQ or equivalent Health and Safety level 1 Experiences To have experience of cleaning commercially in previous roles To have experience of catering commercially in previous roles To have experience of working within a customer facing role To have experience of working within a health care setting To have experience of IT skills/computer literate To have experience of infection / cross contamination control practice Skills and Behaviours To be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
