Job Description:

As a

General Labourer at

Army HQ ,Monxton Road Andover Hampshire SP11 8HT, you'll play a vital role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the site, helping to maintain a safe, clean, and well-organised working environment. Working as part of a supportive team, you'll carry out a variety of general labouring duties, assisting with site maintenance, manual handling, housekeeping and operational tasks. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside our Armed Forces personnel, making a real contribution to the running of the site and the experience of those who use it.

What You'll Do

Support site operations: Carry out a range of general labouring duties safely and efficiently, ensuring work is completed to the required standards and within agreed timescales.

Maintain a safe and tidy environment: Help keep work areas clean, organised and hazard-free by carrying out housekeeping duties and ensuring equipment and materials are stored correctly.

Assist with manual handling: Safely move materials, equipment and supplies using the appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment, following all training and guidance provided.

Work safely: Follow all health and safety procedures, company policies and site rules, wearing the appropriate PPE at all times and role modelling safe behaviours.

Use equipment correctly: Operate tools, equipment and materials safely and only after receiving the appropriate training.

Support the wider team: Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors, attending daily team briefs, huddles and meetings to understand priorities and support operational requirements.

Maintain high standards: Take pride in delivering a professional service while ensuring all assigned tasks are completed to the expected quality standards.

Report concerns promptly: Report any hazards, near misses, accidents, defects or faulty equipment to your line manager immediately to help maintain a safe working environment.

Continue learning: Complete all required training on time and actively develop your skills and knowledge to support your role and future career opportunities.

Be flexible: Support the wider operation by undertaking other reasonable duties as requested by management. Flexibility around working hours and locations may occasionally be required to meet business needs.

What You Bring

  • Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers and site personnel.

  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high standards.
  • Physically able to carry out manual handling duties and general labouring tasks safely.

  • A commitment to maintaining excellent health, safety and housekeeping standards.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a general labouring, facilities, maintenance or operational support role.
  • Experience of working within a military or secure environment.
