The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) or
Student Veterinary Nurse (SVN) to join a welcoming and supportive small animal practice in
Southport.
This is an excellent role for a compassionate and enthusiastic veterinary nurse looking to work within a friendly team where high standards of patient care and client service are at the heart of everything they do. Whether already qualified or currently training, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build on their clinical skills while working alongside experienced veterinary professionals in a collaborative environment.
With flexible working patterns, no out-of-hours work, and accommodation available if required, this role offers an excellent balance between career progression and quality of life.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional nursing care and supporting the veterinary team with a varied caseload. Responsibilities will include:
• Providing high-quality nursing care to medical and surgical patients
• Assisting veterinary surgeons during consultations, procedures and surgery
• Preparing and monitoring patients undergoing anaesthesia
• Administering medications and carrying out inpatient care
• Performing laboratory work including sample collection and analysis
• Maintaining accurate clinical records
• Advising and supporting clients with preventative healthcare, medications and post-operative care
• Ensuring clinical areas and equipment remain clean, organised and compliant with hygiene standards
• Assisting with emergency cases when required
The Candidate
The practice is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about animal welfare and enjoys working as part of a supportive team.
Applicants should have:
• RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, or be enrolled as a Student Veterinary Nurse
• Previous experience within a veterinary practice (preferred)
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
• A proactive, compassionate and positive approach to patient care
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
