Business Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our operations—driving 

efficiency, supporting key decisions, and making a real difference to

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for pupils, parents, and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment. 
  • Provide reception cover and general administrative support for the school. 
  • Handle telephone calls, emails, and enquiries professionally. 
  • Manage pupil records and maintain accurate data, including FSM/PP updates. 
  • Process payments for school meals, trips, and other activities, following cash handling procedures. 
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining office supplies. 
  • Undertake photocopying, laminating, scanning, and other clerical tasks. 
  • Support communication with parents regarding pupil welfare and emergencies. 
  • Process purchase orders and invoices accurately for audit purposes. 
  • Assist with organising school trips, clubs, and events.
  • Help raise the school’s profile through social media and community engagement.

 

 

Who are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills – able to interact professionally with pupils, parents, staff, and visitors. 

  • Strong organisational skills – ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. 

  • Attention to detail – accurate record-keeping and data entry. 

  • IT proficiency – experience with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn school systems (e.g., MIS). 

  • Confidentiality and discretion – handling sensitive information in line with GDPR and safeguarding policies. 

  • Team player – collaborative approach and flexibility to support colleagues. 

  • Customer service skills – providing a welcoming and helpful front-of-house experience. 

  • Ability to work under pressure – maintaining professionalism during busy periods. 

  • Basic financial skills – handling payments and processing invoices accurately. 

  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures – commitment to child protection and school policies
