Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)

Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Working within specialist schools and alternative provisions, you'll play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll provide both classroom and pastoral support, working closely with teachers and wider professionals to create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
- Supporting teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and engagement with learning
- Building trusted relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing
- Providing pastoral support and monitoring pupil welfare
- Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to meet individual learning and wellbeing needs
Many of the specialist settings we work with have small class sizes, allowing for personalised support and meaningful relationships with pupils, including those preparing to transition back into mainstream education.
You
We're looking for individuals who are patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting young people to succeed.
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care, or similar setting
- An understanding of SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision environments
- The ability to motivate, encourage, and engage learners with a range of needs
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above, or an equivalent qualification
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and achieving positive outcomes for every learner
