Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as an Everybody Walk Lead, playing a key role in developing, coordinating and delivering a borough-wide walking programme across Cheshire East. Working with community, voluntary and statutory partners, you will lead inclusive walking initiatives that improve health, wellbeing and social connection, including guided walks, active travel opportunities, walking routes enhanced by podcast and audio content that bring local stories, heritage and points of interest to life, and an annual walking festival. You will identify gaps in local provision, engage and support participants of all abilities, recruit and train volunteer walk leaders, build strong partnerships with health professionals and community organisations, and promote walking opportunities with a particular focus on inactive and vulnerable groups. The role also involves establishing a central information hub for residents, ensuring activities are safe, evidence-based and compliant with safeguarding and health and safety requirements, while monitoring impact, maintaining accurate records and contributing to key performance targets. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about community wellbeing and increasing physical activity to make a lasting difference across Cheshire East.

Contracted roles follow a three point grading structure, with the opportunity to advance annually through the PDR (Performance and Development Review) process.
