Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker to join the team at Lorac Lodge. This role is vital in ensuring high-quality, consistent care for children and young people within a safe and structured residential environment. You will play a key leadership role in supporting positive outcomes and day-to-day care delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership during shifts, guiding and supporting the care team.
Act as the senior point of contact on shift, ensuring effective handovers and continuity of care.
Promote a positive and professional team culture focused on safeguarding and child-centred care.
Ensure care plans are implemented effectively and reflect individual needs.
Monitor young people’s progress and contribute to care plan reviews.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care and daily activities.
Work collaboratively with families, schools, social workers, and external professionals.
Support and mentor new or less experienced staff members.
Assist management with supervision, training coordination, and performance monitoring.
Support quality assurance processes and compliance with Ofsted standards.
Contribute to preparing the home for inspections and implementing improvements.
Respond effectively to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and emergencies.
Requirements
Experience in a senior or leadership role within children’s residential care.
Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted regulations.
NVQ or BTEC Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or working towards it).
Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
Safeguarding and Child Protection training.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour support (desirable).
Ability to manage challenging situations and emergencies.
Enhanced DBS clearance.
Right to work in the UK.
