Location: Nottingham | Hybrid

Contract: Full Time | Permanent | 40 hours per week

About Us:

Omega Red Group is the recognised UK market leader in earthing, lightning protection, and height safety protection.

Omega Red offers survey, design, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair solutions for earthing, lightning protection, surge protection and height safety. The business is passionate about protecting people, property, electrical equipment and systems, from the damaging effects of lightning strikes, electrical faults and surges.

The Role:

Omega Red Group is looking for a Commercial Manager to lead and optimise the commercial performance of two key business streams: our major projects contracting division and our recurring revenue compliance services business.

This role offers the autonomy and the opportunity to shape commercial processes, influence business performance and directly contribute to strategic growth initiatives. You'll play a key part in protecting profitability, managing commercial risk, strengthening client relationships, and helping drive the next phase of business growth.

You'll provide commercial leadership across:

Contracting Division: Delivering large-scale installation projects under NEC and JCT contract frameworks.

Recurring Revenue Division: Supporting compliance-led services including Power Earthing, Lightning Protection, and Height Safety, with a focus on customer retention, revenue growth, and long-term value.

Working closely with operational, finance, and project teams, you'll ensure strong commercial governance while identifying opportunities to improve performance and create sustainable growth.

Joining Omega Red at an exciting stage of growth, you will have the opportunity to influence the commercial direction of a market-leading business operating across critical infrastructure, compliance and safety services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leading the commercial management of NEC and JCT contracts, including variations, claims, negotiations, and risk management.

- Supporting project teams to maximise profitability, monitor costs, manage cash flow, and improve commercial outcomes.

- Developing pricing, retention, and growth strategies across recurring service contracts.

- Identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing customer accounts.

- Providing commercial input into bids, tenders, and strategic business opportunities.

- Reviewing contracts and supporting business-wide risk management and governance.

- Producing commercial reporting and insights to support senior leadership decision-making.

- Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and key stakeholders to strengthen commercial performance.

What Success Looks Like:

- Improved commercial governance and contract management across major projects.

- Increased profitability through effective management of variations, claims, and contractual risk.

- Development of pricing and retention strategies that increase recurring revenue and customer lifetime value.

- Enhanced commercial reporting and visibility for senior leadership.

- Strong commercial partnerships established across Operations, Finance and Sales teams.

- Identification and delivery of growth opportunities within existing customer accounts.

What You’ll Need:

Essential

- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or senior commercial role.

- Strong commercial contract management experience, with knowledge of NEC and JCT contract frameworks.

- Commercial expertise gained within construction, engineering, infrastructure, facilities management, building services, utilities, or compliance-led services.

- Experience managing contract performance, risk, and profitability.

- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

- Strong financial, analytical, and reporting capabilities.

Desirable

- Experience within Lightning Protection, Height Safety, Power Earthing, or related compliance services.

- Experience managing both project-based and recurring revenue business models.

- Strong understanding of commercial governance, contract law, and cost control.

What You'll Get:

- Family-Friendly Leave: Enhanced Maternity, Adoption, Paternity & Shared Parental Leave, Fertility Support, and up to 5 paid Carer’s Days

- Financial & Life Assurance: Company Pension Scheme with salary sacrifice options

- Health & Wellbeing: Employee Assistance Programme and 24/7 Virtual GP access for you and your dependents

- Lifestyle & Perks: Cycle to Work Scheme and My Premier Benefits discounts, cashback, and vouchers

- Inclusion & Belonging: Active People Networks – Disability & Neurodiversity, Unity+, Women’s Network, Parent & Carer Networking Group and more

- Performance & Recognition: Annual salary review, Reward & Recognition Scheme, and Long Service Awards.
