Summary
POSITION: Learning and Development Coordinator
LOCATION: Boaler Street and sites across Liverpool City Region
HOURS: Full time hours
SALARY: £28,000 to £29,000 per annum
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
As Learning & Development Coordinator, you will coordinate the design, delivery and evaluation of training and supervision for staff and learners across Local Solutions, with a particular focus on Homecare, ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety, CQC and Local Authority compliance.
You will help build a culture of continuous learning that supports staff to grow, feel confident in their roles, and deliver safe, person-centred, compassionate care. You will liaise closely with health and social care professionals, the HR & Recruitment team, and operational managers to ensure training remains effective, current and responsive to service user needs.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
To be successful in this Learning & Development Coordinator role, you will be a confident communicator with excellent relationship building skills, capable of establishing strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, while supporting the L&D Officer with projects across the organisation.

Training delivery & coordination
o Lead on coordinating, scheduling and where appropriate delivering training for Local Solutions staff, with a particular focus on Homecare.
o Carry out training needs analysis across services, working with managers to identify skills gaps and learning priorities.
o Support staff with their professional development, including career pathways, apprenticeships and access to funded qualifications (e.g. AEB, apprenticeship levy).
o Maintain, develop and administer eLearning content and the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring content stays current, accessible and engaging.
o Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of training (e.g. feedback, competency checks, outcome data) and use this to continuously improve the offer.
Compliance, records & induction
o Co-ordinate audits of employee training records to ensure compliance with Local Authority, CQC and other regulatory requirements.
o Maintain adequate electronic and paper-based records and filing systems in line with current legislation and company policy.
o Lead on new starter induction packs, training pathways and employment documentation for Homecare starters, ensuring a compliant and positive first experience.
Relationships & communication
o Liaise with health and social care professionals, external trainers/suppliers and awarding bodies to ensure training is effective, accredited where required, and responsive to service user needs.
o Ensure all enquiries and messages are dealt with courteously and efficiently, and that correspondence is prepared to a high standard of accuracy.
o Identify problems or opportunities within Learning & Development across the organisation and propose solutions.
Continuously develop your own knowledge and skills, keeping abreast of best practice and sector developments in L&D.
Essential:
o Level 3 or above Award in Education & Training (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards.
o Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or equivalent sector experience.
o Minimum 3 years' experience in a social care setting.
o Experience designing, delivering and evaluating training, including use of e-learning / LMS platforms.
o Understanding of and experience working with CQC regulations and Local Authority compliance requirements.
o Moving & Handling and Medication Administration training experience.
o Ability to lead, inspire, motivate and develop staff at all levels.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confident engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
o Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
o Confident using MS Office (particularly Excel) and comfortable working with training/compliance data.
o Full driving licence and access to own vehicle for travel across services.
Desirable:
o CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) in Learning & Development or People Practice.
o Experience supporting apprenticeship levy programmes.
o Experience supporting services through CQC inspections or quality audits.
o Familiarity with digital learning management systems and workforce/training data dashboards.
