Summary
ASD Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a patient and enthusiastic ASD Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school based in Plumstead.
This role is ideal for someone who has experience supporting pupils with autism, communication needs or additional learning needs. The school are looking for a reliable and proactive Teaching Assistant who can support students with their learning, confidence, behaviour and daily routines.

Position: ASD Teaching Assistant
Location: Plumstead
Pay: £100-£117 per day
Hours: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP / September roles available
School Type: SEN / Secondary School Setting
The Role:
As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support pupils with autism and additional needs throughout the school day
* Work 1:1 and with small groups to encourage engagement and progress
* Help pupils access classroom activities and follow structured routines
* Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
* Assist teachers with adapted resources and learning tasks
* Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
* Provide a calm, consistent and nurturing approach
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Previous experience supporting pupils with ASD or SEN
* A calm, patient and resilient approach
* Confidence supporting pupils with communication and learning needs
* Good behaviour management and communication skills
* Experience in a school, care, youth work, mentoring or childcare setting is desirable
* A positive attitude and willingness to get involved
* An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
