We are currently recruiting adaptable and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to support a range of schools across Brent and nearby areas. These flexible daily supply opportunities are ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, value flexibility, and are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with additional needs.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities across different educational settings. Each day may bring a new environment, offering valuable experience and variety.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with SEND across primary and secondary school settings
- Assisting teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and targeted interventions
- Promoting inclusive learning and helping pupils access the curriculum
- Providing one-to-one and small group support where required
- Supporting behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress and development
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
About You
We are looking for committed individuals who are confident supporting children with additional needs and who can quickly build positive relationships in new environments.
You will ideally have:
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND in primary or secondary settings
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Understanding of a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
