Our Graduates into Teaching Pathway offers an excellent opportunity to gain meaningful, paid experience as a Teaching Assistant in schools across Durham and the surrounding areas. This programme is designed to help you build confidence, develop practical classroom skills, and take your first step towards a future in teaching.

- Paid School Experience: Gain between 3 months and up to 1 year of paid experience as a Teaching Assistant, allowing you to learn from experienced educators while earning

- Ongoing Support & Training: Access free training, continuous guidance, and the opportunity to achieve an accredited Level 2 qualification

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work across partner primary, secondary, and SEN schools, supporting pupils in both 1:1 and small group settings.

You will be fully supported by experienced mentors and consultants, with placements matched to schools in your local area. This hands-on experience will help you develop key skills and confidence as you progress towards a career in teaching.

We are looking for graduates who are enthusiastic about working with young people and developing a career in education.

- A degree in any subject (minimum 2:2 or predicted equivalent)

- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- A flexible, organised, and proactive approach

- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people

- The ability to provide two professional referees

- An Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one

Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications, with opportunities to progress as you gain experience within the programme.
