Summary

To develop a rapport with patients, to encourage and motivate them to participate in activity (either group or individual work). To contribute to the development and implementation of a creative and innovative activities programme responsive to the varying needs of the patient group. To observe general behaviour, abilities and responses of patients and report them verbally to the multi-disciplinary team and within the patient record. Utilise IT systems to secure accurate and timely patient data. Support staff and patients exposed to difficult situations arising in the clinical area e.g after receipt of bad news or following an unexpected event. Maintain a clean, safe environment ensuring adherence to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control at all times. Promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards.
