Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Quality Team as a Compliance & Quality Lead in our busy Genomics Laboratory.

The East Genomics Service Lead Laboratory is looking to recruit a Band 7 Compliance & Quality Lead, to support the Quality Team and the laboratory to maintain the quality management system and accreditation to ISO 15189:2022.

You will work closely with the Quality Team, laboratory staff, and colleagues at all levels, so strong communication and a high level of organisational skills are required. A keen eye for detail, ability to prioritise and multi-task are required to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the quality management system and the associated duties of the Compliance & Quality Lead role. Previous experience of working with a quality management system and software is highly desirable.

The Laboratory is part of the East Genomics Service. This is one of seven Genomic Hubs established to provide the new National Genomic Medicine Service for NHS England, led by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and working with Nottingham University Hospital and University Hospital Leicester.

Hours are currently within laboratory opening hours of 8am to 6pm, with the ability to work flexibly from home and onsite.

Main duties of the job

1. Provide leadership and guidance to staff within the service on all aspects related to quality management to promote patient safety.

2. Support design, implementation and monitoring of the quality management system.

3. Promote a quality culture and quality improvement in all areas of the service.

4. Communicate with a wide variety of staff and perform computer manipulation and production of data for reports and meetings.
