About Charlotte

Charlotte has cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user, she is a warm, energetic and sociable individual who describes herself as spontaneous, charismatic, empathetic, independent, motivated and always up for a laugh. She enjoys concerts, volunteering, going out for dinner, meeting friends for coffee, and spending time with her family, friends and much-loved dog.

Day-to-Day Life

A typical day with Charlotte may include going to the gym, attending a concert, enjoying a coffee, or spending time out and about in the community. Every day is different, so the right person will enjoy variety and be happy to support Charlotte to make the most of each day.

What You’ll Be Doing

Charlotte requires daily support across mornings, daytime and evenings. This includes practical assistance with personal care, showering, changing clothes, laundry, cooking, and general household tasks. The role is about providing respectful, person-centred support that helps Charlotte live as independently and confidently as possible.

Personality Match

Charlotte would like to work with someone compassionate, reliable and respectful, who can build a positive working relationship and treat others with dignity. A calm, reassuring approach is important, as is a good sense of humour. The ideal candidate will be dog friendly and someone who does not take life too seriously.

Key Details

This role is based in Bothwell, so applicants must be able to travel to and from the area reliably.

Driving requirement: A driver is essential. You will be required to drive Charlotte’s mobility vehicle.

Hours: Charlotte is seeking to employ 2 PAs, 15 hours per week each with flexibility depending on Charlotte’s needs.

Days: Days and times are very flexible and will be discussed at interview.

Hourly Rate: £14.45

Requirements:

No specific qualifications are required. What matters most is that you are kind, reliable, willing to learn and able to travel. Once a positive working relationship has been established, there may be opportunities to support Charlotte on holidays or trips away. Applicants must also be willing to provide sleepover support from time to time.

Flexibility is important, as some plans may change at short notice. Being adaptable and able to respond positively to change will be a real advantage.
