Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our team in delivering outstanding, person-centred care. The successful candidate will be confident in using digital care planning systems and demonstrate excellent medication management and clinical decision-making skills to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and care.

Key Responsibilities:

Medication Management: Safely administer medications using Electronic Medication Administration Records (E-MAR), ensuring accuracy and compliance with best practice.

Medication Awareness: Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of medications, including potential drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, and side effects. Carry out regular medication reviews and escalate any concerns appropriately to minimise risks.

Digital Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records, including care notes, fluid and nutrition charts, using the organisation's digital care management system.

Clinical Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate person-centred nursing care for individuals with a range of clinical needs, promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing.

Leadership: Lead shifts effectively, providing clinical guidance and support to care assistants, delegating tasks appropriately while maintaining overall accountability for the delivery of safe and effective care.

Essential Requirements:

NMC Registration: Current and valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Digital Competency: Proven experience using E-MAR systems (such as PCS, Nourish, or similar digital care platforms) and confidence in adopting new technologies.

PVG Membership: Current membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

Professional Development: Evidence of recent training in the Safe Handling of Medicines and a commitment to continuous professional development.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with residents, families, GPs, and the wider multidisciplinary team.

SSSC Code of Practice: A sound understanding of, and commitment to, working in accordance with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Codes of Practice.
