Summary

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Carmarthenshire to assist with the appointment of a Grounds Operative, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £12.84 - £16.61 per hour

Summary:

The Grounds Operative (General) will deliver high-quality grounds maintenance services across public parks, schools, playing fields, landscaped areas, and other open spaces. The successful candidate will carry out a wide range of grounds maintenance duties, operate machinery and equipment safely, and help maintain attractive, safe, and well-presented public environments.

Responsibilities:

Carry out general grounds maintenance including grass cutting, hedge trimming, and maintenance of sports areas.

Set out and mark sports pitches and maintain artificial, synthetic, and natural playing surfaces.

Undertake site preparation, basic construction, and landscaping activities.

Clean public buildings, changing rooms, toilets, parks, playgrounds, and open spaces.

Safely apply pesticides in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and current legislation.

Operate handheld tools, powered machinery, light plant, tractors, and tractor-mounted equipment.

Qualification:

Training in the use of grounds maintenance machinery.

Essentials:

Previous experience in gardening or grounds maintenance.

Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.

Ability to allocate tasks and work to set timescales.

Full UK driving licence.

Ability to tow trailers.
