Summary

Be a key member of the dental team, working with Dentists and Therapists to assist in the smooth organisation of the surgery to give a high standard of care to patients. Undertake surgery duties on a daily basis with occasional reception duties associated with the needs of Worcestershire Community Dental Service. Work at clinics across Worcestershire. Registered with the General Dental Council and ensure maintenance of this registration. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinical Your primary responsibility will be to provide clinical support in a wide range of treatments for a broad client base Assist patients to and from the surgery and prepare them for clinical inspection and treatment Update computerised patient records dictated under guidance of the Dentist and/or Therapist as required. Be responsible for the efficient decontamination, disinfection, sterilisation and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment Have a welcoming and positive approach for our patients and provide physical and emotional support. Attend general anaesthetic sessions Provide support to Dentists and/or Therapists whilst undertaking epidemiological surveys. Accompany Dentists and/or Therapists on domiciliary visits When necessary undertake reception duties to include booking appointments, handling money, including weekly banking, dealing with complaints and sending correspondence to patients. Ensure that all Trust Policies are adhered to including safety procedures and cross infection. Physical Skills Standard keyboard use. Dexterity to handle instruments / equipment confidently.
