Summary

Job responsibilities The role requires a high level of clinical and professional expertise in order that clients and their carers benefit from a well-coordinated pro-active, specialist, efficient and effective Dietetic treatment. The service includes individually tailored therapy and management, training, advice and a consultative approach. Input is predominantly on a one on one basis but consultation and training may be provided to train staff as required Personal Specification Qualifications - Academic/Craft/Professional Essential Degree or equivalent post grad Qualification leading to registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Dietitian HCPC registration as a Dietitian. Appropriate range of post registration specialist professional knowledge and experience acquired through recognised academic study and practical clinical education Desirable Membership of British Dietetic Association (BDA) Relevant clinical update course e.g. Paediatric update, Community Dietetics, Diabetes, PENG Clinical update course, Learning Disability specific course. Teaching qualification or Clinical Educators course Training Essential Engagement in training as required appropriate to the post. Desirable Relevant additional training. Experience Essential Post registration clinical experience obtained within a wide range of acute /community /social care settings. Experience of teaching groups. Evidence of Knowledge - Skills-Aptitudes Essential Empathetic and psychologically minded Excellent written and oral communication skills for a variety of audiences, and in situations Well organised and able to prioritise a high turnover caseload Excellent clinical reasoning skills Leadership skills Experience of supporting other staff and students Motivated and a motivator Team builder and team member Autonomous and able to work without direct supervision Reflective practitioner Ability to manage own wellbeing with access to supervision to sustain this. IT skills to support clinical and service needs and developments. Desirable Motivational Interview Skills Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies. A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
