Summary

Following expansion to the service, we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to the role of Patient Pathway Administrator.

The role is offered at part-time working 18.75 hours per week, and is located at Cedar House within our St. Michael's Community Hospital site within the School Age Speech & Language Therapy Team. The working pattern for this role will be agreed at interview.

Our School-Age Speech and Language Therapy Service supports children and young people in Enfield with speech, language and communication needs, as well as difficulties with eating and drinking.

We work in partnership with children, young people, families, schools and other professionals to provide:

• Assessment of speech, language and communication strengths and areas of need.

• Individualised intervention and therapy programmes delivered in collaboration with families and educational settings.

• Assessment and support for eating and drinking difficulties.

• Specialist support for children and young people who stammer, have speech sound difficulties, or experience selective mutism.

• Written reports outlining identified needs, the impact on learning and social interaction, and recommendations to support positive outcomes.

• Training, advice and consultation for school staff to help create communication-friendly learning environments.

The postholder will join a high performing administration team maintaining all patient pathways within the Enfield Community Services – School-Age Speech & Language Therapies team, working alongside our Consultant Community Paediatricians, Community Nursing team, Speech & Language Therapists, and support staff from across the Health Unit.

The postholder is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient management of the patient throughout their pathway; giving the patient a single point of contact for their appointments, ensuring the patients and carer experience is central to every stage of the patient journey, and ensuring potential breaches of RTT (referral to treatment) waiting times targets are avoided or escalated to the relevant manager.

The postholder will proactively manage and track the progress of all referrals to ensure each stage of the pathway is fully planned and booked, whilst also working with colleagues throughout the Trust to ensure waiting time targets are achieved. They will be required to assist in the data quality and validation, ensuring all patients have recorded pathway start dates, and support the management team to identify areas that require pathway improvements.

North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system – consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICS’s, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. Whilst all organisations remain as standalone, statutory bodies we have an ICS infrastructure for making shared decisions and agreeing shared approaches.
